--> Last night I made a fateful discovery.. a couple really.

First off I found out that there's a really b-ass SNES emulator for mac os x.

And surprisingly, it's better than the ones i've used for PC.

the scrolling is amazingly smooth, the graphics are really sharp (especially when run to a v) and it's got this cool little browser for your save states that displays the screen that you save them on. the interpolation algorithms are really sweet on this one.

anyway.. somehow (in a stoned video-game frenzy).. I ended up playing Mario (the lost levels, no less) at double speed... simply put- it's fugging crazy. really really crazy.

I fear that i may have a new found addiction to playing mario at high speeds..

i also played the original star fox (regular speed).. wow, haven't played that since i was about 12.. great game.

sigh.. what a nerd am i.

I love SNES! Right now I have Link to the Past and Earthbound in emulation.

Have you seen Mario Adventure? Someone designed a brand new mario game from scratch...it looks pretty cool.

I just discovered that Mario Adventure game a few minutes ago. Looks cool! I downloaded it and will be trying it out shortly.

Earthbound is one of my favorite game of all time. Probably won't be playing if for a while tho, seeing as how I've already played through it 2 or 3 times. Link to the past is classic also. there's really a bunch of awesome games..

the Mega man X series is also really awesome..
super metroid
super punch out

also a great NES game is The adventures of LInk.. it's really awesome. hard tho.

here's a couple of good sites for ROMS..

i downloaded a snes emu for my powerbook before i went on my european tour.
it had a lot of fun playing super mario world on the backseat of the car.
snes rules so much!

edit: ah, what's the best source for roms btw?
edit 2: ok;)

High speed classic gaming is "da bomb".

At an arcade in town, they have a sped up Ms. Pac Man that makes me sweat bullets. Much more fun than playing at 1x and highly recommended.

when you go back to playing it on normal speed.. it's ridculous.. everything seems very slow.

Bad news, playertwo.

It seems like there is no push to get Mother 3 translated by nintendo of america, which sucks.

However, there are a bunch of fans who are translating it, so maybe we'll get to play it yet. link

it's GBA correct? I wonder how long it will take 'em to translate.

Yup, it's GBA. I think they're getting pretty close to wrapping up the translation.

You will have to obtain the ROM, though, and patch it using their translation patch.

i've been trying to remember the name of this amazing epic sci-fi car racing game... something "3000"...

Top Gear 3000.

Holyshit! I just started playing SNES emus again too. The lady and I play co-op super bomberman while in my solo time I'm playing Actraiser, Secret of Mana, FFIII, super metroid... um and a few others. What a classic system!

ddamn you.. with your cool gf who likes to play video games.. ;)

all the games you listed are badass btw. i'm playing FFV ( the one that never came out in the US).. it has kicked my music production in teh nuts this last week.

snes rpg's pwn their more recent graphically superior children imo.

16bit ftw.
