--> I made an ep.

ive been listening to a lot of folk music over the last 6 months, which inspired me to start composing reels on the banjo, and more recently mandolin.
once i wrote a tune i would come up with a weird electronic setting for them.
You might have heard a couple of the tracks on here in the past.
it sounds like deranged kiddie tv music.

I could have probably worked longer on some of the tracks, some of the drum work is v-basic. i dont have the patience for drum programming anymore.
theres a few mistakes here and there but overall i think it works as a decent wee collection.

heres a zip: link
24 mbs 6 tracks.
the cover looks like: link

On a non-musical note I recently moved into a new flat. I now have internet, a washing machine and easy access to a 24hr supermarket.
I dont have to worry about mice or slugs in the kitchen, also no more coin operated electricity meter!!!!!
I miss the Turkish child-beating, keyboard-playing neighbour though.

Im enjoying my job at the moment, im a support worker for people with mental-health problems. It can be quite heavy sometimes, but its interesting and you get to travel about Glasgow on your own without the boss breathing down yer neck.

all is reasonably good. but the weather here is shite at the moment.
rain/wind/cold/darkness
i just need to make it through christmas and new-year and all will be spiffing.

nice, downloading it the noo.

Great album monty. Very cohesive... nice mix of old and new.
I grew up in Halifax NS, canada... where it seems the only music played is celtic ... so I've grown a deep hatred for the style over years... but that's only my personal bias.
Besides that... I liked this.

haha...i know what you mean about "celtic music"
they use it a lot an adverts over here.
im not really into the whole musicians competing for trophies vibe.

i like running with certain musical flavours for periods of time. at the moment im on a diddley-dee-de-dum-de-diddly trip

whenever i hear banjo, i become extremely happy. i beleive its the most joyful instrument out there.

What about the skin flute?

does the skin flute bring up images of Southern Appalachia? i think not
