--> hello again. So I finally added a music section to my site. I used to make music before I decided to focus strictly on visual arts (for now). Anyway I recently found my adapter for my minidisk player which allowed me to rediscover all the tracks that I once made. Suprisingly, they seemed to hold up quite well and sorrow befell me as I pondered what I had given up. So know as I dust off my old equipment and boot up the mpc i thought I would share with my favorite site to luck upon. Just hop on over to link and head to the projects page. Click the album cover for some vintage madness all the way from 2002. If any web slingers can help, let me know why my tracks download as text files? You can just change them to m4a by erasing the text part but I'll be damned if i can figure why they do that. Anyway feel free to explore the site, and share your thoughts. cheers

looks nice. title is missing, "untitled document" isn't looking too good. why the flash navigation bar?

but yes, looks nice. logo especially.

damn, i was hoping for bobby brown.

thanks. I tried to get bobbi, ricki and mike but they were oh to busy. Is the flash navigation a bad idea? I basically bought a book on dreamweaver, locked myself up for a week and made the site.I wanted the beckett font for the type so i thought flash would be the best way to make sure it was displayed properly. I'll try to give it a title.that untitled bit is a little played out. Did you have a chance to here the tracks. Their oldies but goodies I hope. Thanks for the comments so far.

flash ain't bad, but you could've just done it with images, since it's just links. nevermind, it's good, don't change it. :D i listened couple of tracks, and they sounded good. is there a reason for using .m4a -files instead of .mp3s?

but those sneakers are smokin' hot!

- dbr

glad your feeling the sneakers. they were done as a one off for the sneaker pimps show. I reverse engineered the shoe pattern(interesting side note, your left and right shoe are by no means symetrical. this little factoid dawned on me after 4 days of work duplicating the pattern, printing the fabric and carefully cutting all the pieces only to discover that they were completely different) using a technique taught to me by a handbag designer friend. Then designed all the panels using characters from my design archive, printed it out on heat transfer fabric and reasembled. Way too tedious to ever do again but the results were flawless. It looks like a factory prototype.
Are ,m4a-files a poor choice? I just dropped the wave files into itunes to encode as it was the only encoding program I had. I guess their more mac-centric files than mp3 files. Perhaps I should reencode them.
another question for dirtybird. I tried to name the page to prevent the untitled document nastyness but as a frame I can't fiqure out how to do it. I tried making the frames visible and selecting thegroup nad naming but to no avail. I also clicked on every frame and titled them separately but it still shows up untitled. How does one deal with frames best?

Nice crunchy tracks, i like 'missing you'. do more music!

thanks cbit! I finally got my studio back in order and decided to buckle down and actually make a song instead of making 4 bar loops of pure fire. I did a remix for my emo friend and re-invented the track. It was a purely guitar based instrumental that I reworked. Y'all can hear it here link
It takes a bit to get started as I was experimenting with the idea of soundscapes and the beat work is by far the most simple i have ever done due to the fact that I only learned how to use my MPC properly in Tracktion last week after begging for help on kvr's forums.
Its strange after such a long hiatus from music making how easy it is to lose yourself in it all over again. My biggest hurdle is transitioning from a strictly MPC based compositional method to one that utilizes the sound potential of my macbook. Things are falling into place though and I'm giddy like a school girl all over again.
