--> I am gutted I can't be at the excellent hcgreen xmas party tonight, but at least there's something happening locally here in the outback of east germany: a ~scape label night, Pole playing a liveset with support from DJs Barbara Preisinger and Matthias Kaden happening in Jena, a 20 minute drive from here tonight, 7 euro cover. I'm so there.

coooool.

have fun.

i stay at home and program patches

dronescapes and patch programming...

CAN WE PARTY OR WHAT?!

Can we have a kegger after?

i will lift a beer up tonight for ya martin and nils. my mate told me a funny story about when he put pole on in scotland. he tried to pay him in ripped up bits of paper that he thought were 20 pound notes. he was not amused.

I saw pole in Sweden, he was ok.

it was a good night.. relatively full, maybe 3-400 people, the (local resident) opener Matthias Kaden pulled the crowd a bit too much into the minimal-house direction to fire them up and I'm sure most of the people there didn't know Pole, so they initially were a bit pissed when they had to stop dancing for a while, since he started out with some drones and trademark dubby chords, but in the end Pole built his set up to some kind of Industrial-Dubtechno, with loads of feedbacked (guitar?) noise looping between grooving bassdrum rolls. really lovely, although definitely not as groundbreaking as his first albums. danced my ass of anyways. after his relatively short set his Scape co-founder Barbara Preisinger performed a really nice minimal techno DJ set with loads of Scape artists featured somewhere in there.

sounds fun.

sounds like a good night. i would like to see pole in that setting. hc green was cool. millicent started off. they were great although the pa in the green rooms doesn't do their music justice.

i played after them. my set went down ok but i want to put some new stuff in there. i have been going through loads of old tracks recently and a totally reworked live set is in the works. but it was nice to play the last gig of the year to a decent crowd. ade and albino mosquito did the usual mashed up visuals - they looked great.

domestication of the dog went on after me. he was great. nice ebbs and flows of really detailed sound. i am gonna download his album or buy it i think.
then andy from animals on wheels played. i wanted to see him, he had loads of old toys keys and a weird looking box with flashing lights on. his stuff was good but i was downstairs chatting to soft and reminiscing about STFU finland to really pay attention. it was cool to go back there though and remember everything looking at the pictures of us all at that amazing venue.

scrubber fox and paperball played last. they were mental. scrubber did his usual rap/singing/ranting to the crowd and got a great response.
their sound goes well together and i like the way scrubber shouts in paperballs face, trying to get a wind and paperball sits glued to the screen. how he doesn't crack up i don't know.

all in all a great night and a cool way to end the year.

nice one ben.

sound wicked.

lol you said albino....

where's zanf?

he's still in being questioned by the police
