somehow try to do a live set with it (+sequencer (mmt8))?
how much can you do with a 1sec sample (32khz)? (or an 8 second nasty sample(4khz))
i think im just going to look at it and feel happy

you could do 10 100ms drum hit kinda noises.

can you have a sample loop? if so than use it as a synth?

""use it as a synth""" hey there's a crazy one.

as far as i can tell (ive read the manual but havent actually tried anything yet) it can only hold 1 sample so the 10 drum hits would have to be all together as one sample- each hit accessed by moving the start/end point sliders to the right place
yeah it will loop so i could use it as a synth but itd be difficult to get 1 exact cycle of a waveform- not that it needs to be just 1 cycle but thats the best way to just get a synth tone

do you have the optional disk drive?

play with the sample start/end sliders. Endless fun.

and, sorry CCclub, only 1 sample loaded at a time.

Buy used typewriter disks at goodwill. The sampler will load some of the raw data and try to make a sample out of it. Radness ensues.

can't wait to hear what you do with it

yeah i got the disk drive - the lid is broke but it still works
one of the sliders is broken too but ill just stick a bit of something to it to fix it
i only bought it for the slider fun (and its old school looks)
typewriter disks eh? id like to try that

yeah, those 2 1/4" floppies or whatever size they are were popular in old electronic typewriters for storing your documents.

Y'know, back in the days when 30 foot-tall lizard-like Room's and Zenf's rules the earth.

heh heh.. 2 1/4" floppies..

mlbot- youve got one of these ,right? can it send/receive sample dumps through midi? its got a midi out socket and the manual says its for sysex but theres no mention of sample dumps

i have never heard of anyone making a sysex librarian for this beast. It predates .wav files... so I'm guessing the answer is :
no

sample wrench claims to do it:

this looks interestingz:

Recent blogs: I'm Drunmk (work vs music)

oh no sample wrench costs $$- nevermind
that sample dump info is indeed interesting
actually i dont think ill be able to do this because theres no midi on this computer (yet) and i dont think my mmt8 has enough memory to record a whole sample dump if the samples are always the same (too big) size
