If the american gov't wanted to qwell terrorism and give a little themselves a little bit more psuedo control in iraq, they probly should have avoided the temptation to martyr Sadam Hussein.

i say we hang all the war criminals:D

only in a perfect world.

i say this news makes me mad and i don't even want to see it.

i don;t think anyone deserves to be killed by justice, and this execution strengthens my belief. they just could have put him in a cell for life, probably that way he could think about what he had done and repent... there's nothing human in such an execution.

i hope at least the decision of the iraq goverment was not forced in whatsoever manner by anyone. but even if so, it's sad to see that one of the first acts of a "democracy" is to put someone to death.

it just doesn't make sense, it's only dreadful.

i'm sorry to break your heart pierlu, but the execution of a former leader is usually the first thing that happens in a violent overthrow of any government. this is nothing new, and nothing unexpected.

what makes me even more upset is that my childrens' children will be paying for this stupid war and i can't even watch the hanging on television. i thought capitalism was about getting your money's worth - oh well, not in a bureaucratic theocracy controlled by the FCC i guess ...

and to top it off the body is being protected by the UN!!! what the hell ...

i wanna see the iraqis on TV slow dancing with his corpse and using his head for a soccer ball, maybe even an organized game. THATS getting my trillion dollars worth.

So getting your moneys worth is seeing one particular persons death rather than the all the ones who are being murdered in extrajudicary killings and their bodies dumped on the streets?

Or is the work of the Badr Brigade/Mehdi Army not being shown on your networks?

Television rights over human rights?

"i wanna see the iraqis on TV slow dancing with his corpse "

that's really,really funny.

says it all, doesn't it? developed countries has abandoned these kinds of stone age "justices".

In a democracy, the individuals (citizens) are , in the end, responsible for the acts of the democratically elected.
That makes all my dear Iraqi friends, and what other odd countries where citizens still allow it, murderers. Shame on you.

and yeah, if this becomes a turning point it will only be for worse. making him an martyr and a icon wont do any good for peace.

Well for one thing there is no chance that this man is innocent. He was a murderous monster. But isn't it kind of cynical to make sarcastic jokes about any execution?

I really felt more sadness and disappointment over the whole thing. Killing Saddam won't solve a damned thing.

+a billion

"weekend at Saddams" would be a great movie.

many years ago, i bought some mackie 824s from a local iraqi ex-pat.
it was near the start of the war... i think the very first few days.

he would swearing up and down about how he would love to see saddam dead...
he was selling all his music gear so he could buy a ticket back to iraq to see his family. he was sending money to them all along, but if it was too much, the saddams gvmt would find out and kill his family.
it was very interesting to hear his views... and he wasn't shy about sharing them. i hope the guy is still alive and hasn't been killed over there

thats just a story.. i think about him alot.

Saddam was a douchebag, that much we know. But the steps which the world democracies took to get there, just sickens me. Only time will tell how it will all turn out.
