damn, man, that was awesome. Took my mind off of the shit that was upsetting me. Yet again, it's impossible for me to imagine that out of all of those galaxies that we could be the only planet with intelligent life.

i saw this years ago (maybe as much as 20 years ago!) on afternoon tv when i was off school- never seen it since (apart from now) ive always remembered it (didnt know what it was called though)

it is actually great one can find such kind of movies on the net nowadays. what i like most about this one is that it gives you the idea of what are the beliefs on universe and "sub-universe" all at once... it makes you feel small and grateful for what we have around: we're the "exception". an atheist movie for sure, thanks for sharing

What I find the most interesting is the patterns... the repetition of the open spaces v. dense object-filled spaces, on both the micro and macro levels. Worlds within worlds within worlds.
Doesn't really seem like an atheist movie to me at all.

did you happen to notice the simpsons tribute to this in the youtube sidebar? i love that it goes all the way out past galaxies then mutates into subatomic particles and zooms back out to homer's head...micro/macro overlapping moebius strip reality. i like.
