Ordered my Mac Mini today - managed to find a base-model one for £260. Its a reconditioned ex-demo model from a locall computer place admittedly, so not entirely new, but near enough for me. I'm guessing Apple would be the people who reconditioned it, cos they said its sealed in the box by Apple (when i asked if it came complete). So, can i just use a standard PC monitor with this thing? I dont know what a VGA monitor is to be honest.
How do you update a OSX? If i plug a ethernet cbale from my modem into the port will it connect to the net, no worries? So many questions, so few, err, knowledges.

Which version of OS X does it have? Tiger (10.4)?
If not, you need an upgrade disk. If so, you can just plug it in, create a login and it will go and get the necessary system updates (with your permission of course, not like fucking M$).

Yeah, its OS X 10.4 What does that mean in terms of upgrades? Is that pretty recent? Im mostly concerned with what version of GarageBand is on it to be honest, ive got some work to do that requires that. that is to say, if its garageband 2 or 3, i dont think i need to take too much effort in upgrading. if its not, i might

10.4 is the latest.
Depending on which version of iLife you have, you might need to spend some money to get the latest version of garageband. But I bet if you have the latest OS, you probably have the latest version of iLife (which is 06).

i just received it and its not immaculate, its got a little yellowing of the plastic on top. i guess reconditioning doesnt include cosmetic stuff on these huh?
their service was pretty awesome, im pleased with them, except for the guy in my local store who told me not to buy off the website (even though it was over £100 cheaper) cos he didnt get commission and then wouldnt help me anymore if i was gonna go that route.
