--> I recorded a podcast where I played two tunes that I made in the studio... but what I thought was interesting is that one of them started out as a ringtone idea. I've been thinking about what was exciting about techno when I first started making it and now why it seems like everything has a techno edge to it and I think i've stumbled on something..

Ringtones are to music today, what techno was to music 15 years ago...

I don't get into it enough in theshow but I think there's something to that idea and wanted to share.

where are these sweaty underground clubs with pilled-up people dancing to ringtones?

flame, is that you?

nope, not me, but i can see why you'd think it was. especially as I havent spammed about ringtones here for a few weeks.. im gonna listen to the podcast when im back in the office.

for the original ringtone-inspired-electronica, i present Mobile Foes: link

lol

just making jokes

hehe... say what you want... i'm sure when ppl started using the 303 as an instrument instead of a a programmable bassist ppl said the same thing.

i'm just taking a pause to think of things differently that all

that podcast was actually pretty good, thanks for sharing

nope mr vewwrg.

i think it is not the same as techno 15 years ago. techno was some sort of scene a community and ringtones are just a clever marketing concept

ringtones are annoying

I quite like some ringtones... especially that "Hello Moto" one (makes me feel like I'm in a Japanese arcade, it's very Nanoloop-ish)
