--> Now that I'm pretty much done and finished with my most reccent EP, I'm considering what sort of project to tackle next. I've got a lot of ideas and very skeletal beginnings of projects, but nothing that's really leaping out at me and screming "START WORKING ON ME!" I guess that makes sense though, since I'm barely a week or two off the release of my last project. But here's a few ideas I'm kicking around...short term and long term.

one thing I've absolutely been meaning to do for a long time is get some of my EP material transferred over to Ableton Live, so I can set up a show or two sometime down the road. I've done it with two tracks from my Apparel EP (Skirt and Jacket), and it was fun, but I still don't completely grasp the capabilities of Live, and I'll need to do a lot of work to figure out how to get some of the beat-mangling I rely on to work in Live (other that just dropping Supertrigga on a track...ick). This should probably be my next thing to work on. The only problem is that it's not too inspiring to spend time working on tracks that are alreayd completed, rather than trying new ideas out.

I also have been planning on doing a companion track to "A Counter-productive Luxury," the song I had on a compilation last year. i've started on this companion track, but I'm not really sure what'll happen with it yet. A "single" I guess? I don't know...I was thinking of maybe doing a limited run 3" CDR single, with block printed cover art, and maybe some buttons. I found aplce that does full-color buttons cheap, so that might work.

And then, I'm always kicking around the idea of tackling a full-length album. I've got a couple of EPs under my wing, and it'd be nice to try something a little more in-depth. But a full album seems daunting somehow...I can't stand albums that are just 10-12 tracks thrown together, I feel like they need to be coherent and planned out, and fit really well together. That's more of a back-burner idea for now. Seeing as it takes me almost a year to finish a 6-track EP. Although I do know that one or two of my older tracks are going to make it onto whatever album I eventually release.

Other thoughts that have hit me, and aren't as serious: a covers EP (with vocals!)...just a handful of favorite songs done up all electro-poppy. That could be fun. I also thought it would be really fun to curate a series of split EPs....get a few pairs of artists, and then in each pair, have each artist come up with an original track, and get their partner to remix that track. So you'd have, for example: Artist A- new track & remix by artist B, paired with Artist B - new track & remix by Artist A. It'd be a cool challenge, I'm sure...

I have more ideas than I can tackle at once. That's what it boils down to. Better that than no ideas though, i suppose.
