--> I went to my favourite cinema last night after work.

I went to see 'Special' which someone recommended on here a few months back.

It is a really enjoyable film that had me laughing my head off one minute and then almost crying at the sadness of the main character.

And the girl in the convenence store was just so cute when she finally spoke - another moment of incredible tenderness that made my heart swell and ache.

Go and see it.

They had a series of shorts playing beforehand under the general banner of 'bitesize cinema'.

You can check out all what was shown here: link [text only - no clips im afraid]

This 17 minute short by Sean Ellis was the final of 5 films that played before the feature and is on youtoob.

Please enjoy.....

cashback gives me a boner.. i've seen it b4 (and its "free" on itunes)

that guy was in harry potter right?

along the time-stopping theme, there's a book by nicholson baker called the fermata which is really good and really um, idno it's rather experimental and it has a lot of the main character's weird sexuality in it.

beatiful film. i would like to see more short films.

this is sound

wow, am I a sensitive artist, too, then?

i worked at walgreens for quite some time. The clock thing is absolutly true. Your last 30 minutes is fucked if you look up to find out you only have 30 minutes left.

Fucking phenominal flick. This guy really has a touch with timing and image. His musical choice was wonderful

I did graveyard at 7-11

The only thing worse than watching the clock: talking to the customers who come into 7-11 at 3am

do they tend to be chatty?

only because laird was half in an autoclave, doused in Phenol/Chloroform.
doh.. its pretty good.. for giving you a boner.

$1.99 on itunes. cheap enough for me. great flick and looks a whole lot better than youtube.

But what if you've already got a boner?

I enjoyed that film, great look, style, boobies etc. thanks for the link mr. zan eff !!

incredible film. thanks for sharing. looking at boobies is better than quidditch any day.

top stuff. thanks zanf. a nice (late) lunchtime treat british cinema rocks.

haha nicely done film, thanks!

theres a film festival in rotterdam this week
im looking forward to 'retribution', anyone seen that?

I would say that 'cashback' was the most 'commercial' of the 5. It had that glossy slick feel to it but was also the most pretentious.

By that I mean, it was hoxton media people filming pro actors with pretty, semi naked hoxton girls as a backdrop in the all night sainsburys in Whitechapel where as the others had more edge, felt more real and had no overdubbed, omnipresent narrative giving you everything in an easily digestable package. It does feel a bit like 'Human Traffic' but set in a supermarket.

Out of all of them, I was more emotional 'caught' by 'The Other Man'.
