Man i hate bugs too... especially these monstrosities. Can't quite make out whether they're totally real or CG, or a hybrid.

Looks like a real bug/cg combo. Very cool vid and the song is equally cool. I agree "Ted" is a great name for a track.

damn, i wanted it to be longer. great song and video. i also like the way the real and cg is seamlessly blended. makes you look closer and pay attention more than just some crazy special effects show. nice work.

i think this is a great album, ted is one of my favorites. herzog is another awesome track.

the bug stuff in this video is great great real/cg combo shit, awesome work, very impressed.

but as a music video? kinda pointless. don't get me wrong, awesome technique, but the video itself just feels like technique for technique's sake. it doesn't jive with the music for me at all, if it's supposed to... and i keep hoping that the insects end up interacting, but they never do.

as a piece of video art, i'm not getting it. not to say the graphics aren't awesome, they just don't seem to fit together.

craque: i agree. the video seems pretty much empty, 'all surface'.

still it's nice, but feels like a missed opportunity. I love that track.

No but actually how do you convey meaning to what is essentially an instrumental track? You could cue it all to some short story but in the end you could argue the same thing.

i think it's much harder to make videos of instrumental tracks. in a vocal track at least you have a band or singer to get a lot of shots of and usually some sort of loose narrative to work with. even if it's not telling a cohesive story a vocal song will usually provide you with some sort of framework for your shots and subject matter. an instrumental is like being lost without a compass. some people might actually enjoy that i guess as it gives them license to create their own meaning for the song and therefore make their own video story from scratch. i personally just find it hard as hell. i guess that's why a lot of the time we see these technique-centered videos for instrumental tracks.
