--> Is it just me or does anyone else love those old school vector graphic games? i.e. Atari's Star Wars link.

I've recently found a cool bunch of games for the GBA & DS by bit Generations link that look and play fantastic.

tempest! battlezone!

I vector graphics...

Thanks for the tip those look amazing... maybe you'll like this woman's artwork link ... they're time lapse photos of vector games (I need to own the tempest one)

sweet music in those bit generation game ad things.

kinda.. makes me feel good about being a dork.

Anyone remember Zarch link?

i love zarch - got it running the other day with an ST emulator. damn, that game is hard!

IMO Rez (DC & PS2) is the ultimate vector style game.

I loved the old vector games. As a kid I always wanted a Vectrex link , but we were a ColecoVision household.

wow. those time lapse photos are really great, thx for posting them logo.

i'm also a big vector gfx fan. i am a proud vectrex owner. the vectrex was the only 80s videogame console with a inbuilt b+w vector monitor onto which you attach overlays to add colour to the games. the games still look stunning today (esp in a darkened room) and there is an active homebrew scene still producing some amazing games for this unique machine.

i was in london for the last few days and visited the game on exhibition at the science museum. they only had a few old vector games in there (and no tempest cab - ooh i was miffed! hehe) but i was very pleased to be back in the star wars cab again and had a good few games on it ;) emulators are great for playing these classic old vector games at home but you really cannot beat playing them on a real arcade cab with a real vector monitor in it. glowing vectors are just sooo beautiful.

i agree the bit generations games are pretty nice (and cheap too ) they are not really 'true' vector games but they have a lovely minimalist style to them. i must admit tho my favourite 'bit generations' game has nothing to do with its look. "sound voyager" was designed to be able to be played by a blind person and must be played using headphones. you use left and right on the d-pad to 'collect' sounds you hear in the in the stereo field. there are also levels where you try to move away from sounds as they approach you, a sort of audio only version of frogger great stuff.
oh man the Vectrex, I've only read about them, never owned one, they look sweet! I'd love to sit in the Star Wars cabinet again.

Yeah I have the sound voyager game it's very difficult though, even with posh headphones!

Anyone a fan of Rez? Any vector lover should check this game out, great music too

please check out this game

first time i see that vectrex! sheesh, i look awesome. i inherited all my games from my older cousins. Intellivision was the system for me and Night Stalker was the greatest game on earth then!
sadly i lost alot of those games but i still have my tomytronic link (not my picture)

Sweeeet! I just got a copier for my ds. Thanks man!

Battle girl was sweet. Its like an early geometry wars: link

Where can I score these games? Any idea?
