if they used funding for spielerei like this, thats a sad thing
and indeed - much more interesting would be if existing instruments would get expanded, not only for people with disabilities, but just for having a few extra tones, new methods and such

why not? Almost everything else has been outsourced these days.
I wouldn't be suprised. I look at many modern day commercial groups as robots anyway...
programmed by the companies. Robots would have more feeling and less pitch correction.
