Finally got it. Super badass sampling doohickey of doom. The Ensoniq ASR-X Pro with SCSI zip drive, and maxed out ramm. Haven't gotten too deep into it yet but I plan to. Exported some loops from Reason 3 to zip disc and it loaded em right up. Dig it. This thing is very nice. Beats the shit out of my DR-202 and S20. So far I have noticed some sequencer hiccups but I'm planning on using mostly loops with minimal sequencing (probly even do that on the computer).I wanna try recording a live set anyway. It's large(ish), red, and built like a tank. I look forward to bashing away on this one.
P.S. Still stuck with the crappy webcam for pics.

AWESOME MACHINE!..... I had one years ago and loved it. It's a well underrated for what it does. If you get the expander card for the audio sounds you'll love the Heavy and Dirty Kit.... And also for punch double up the kick / layer the kick on a second midi channel. Great machine thats for sure..

Cool. I started out alot of my work with an ASR-10 sampler
(it belonged to my friends's stepdad, but i got to use it).

I like thing it's just gonna take some getting use too. Never really did much with hardware and the workflow is alot different. I never really just made drum kits or prepared samples. I always just loaded up some basic stuff and tweaked it with fx until I liked it. Sample browsing on this machine sucks. I guess it's time to start organizing my smaps better. I'm not sure though. Just doesn't seem to fit my workflow very well. Maybe I'm just lazy but I think I'd just rather go back to laptop and controller.
@j_chot: got anything for a trade maybe?

That's thing makes kicks like a hi-fi jackhammer. I find it sounds distinct..
I find the MPC is a sequencer that samples.
The ASR-x is a sampler that has a sequencer..
Both like to play along ..

The old Samquencer versus Sequampler debate continues.
The ASRX has the same effects as the ASR10/EPS16+ right? Awesome.
