don't cry over spilt milk

I spilt milk on my mixer this morning. had a glass of milk about half full that got knocked onto my mixer by some cable spaghetti. luckily though, not all of the milk left the glass and my mixer wasn't turned on or plugged in at the time, furthermore, no milk made contact with the sliders, just some eq and aux knobs. some milk got into some other places, too, but my mixer got it the worst. first thing i did was turn the mixer upside down onto a towel, then i went through the process of taking off all knob caps and deep cleaning. i'm debating whether or not to open the thing up and check before i test it out again, but i think it should be all dried out in a day or two.
also, does anyone have any idea about the conductivity of dried milk? just in case there's dried chunks of it somewhere

i really doubt that any milk got into the internals of the mixer, because the hole where the potentiometers stick out through the panel fit very snugly with the mixer. i dunno though, haven't tried to do anything with it yet. i did do a pretty good cleaning of the outside with a semi-moist towel, so ...
we'll see.

i'd be more worried about spilling soda on it too. because soda dries into a goo, unlike water or milk

whe had this rapper named "SPOOK" In our studio at 702studios. spook mixed us all tequila drinks and proceded to sit on the chair in front of the mixer, the chair had a busted caster leg and flipped with spook and all backwards, the drink flies up and lands upside down on a mackie 24/8bus
We stripped all 50 odd wires and opened that bad boy up and cleaned everything we could, the sticky faders eventually went solid again(mostly) and has not had a single problem(except for the fact that it is a fucking shit mackie)

Otterfan
It isn't the lactose, it's the other crap in milk that makes it conduct.
Otterfan laboratories just ran an experiment. We stuck our multimeter into 1/4 cup of the following liquids with the leads 1 inch apart and got these resistance results:
bourbon and diet coke: 1.2 MOhms
water: 900 KOhms
skim milk: 300 KOhms
So I guess milk is like the most conductive liquid in the world. At least out of anything you'd want to drink. Which is why I only spill liquor, beer, and various mixed drinks on my stuff.
But I bet when you dry it everything will be fine.

would it have been better or worse if the glass of milk was half empty?
my dx100 has a beer sticky key
one of my quadraverbs had a drink once too
the main problem for my stuff is that my studio is my bedroom and my body seems to generate an inch thick layer of dust on everything everyday

YOU GUYS!!!!! Tthe secret is to Absolutely Forbid any types of liquids to rest at the same height or higher than the gear. Never Ever Ever put your coffee, beercan or mug of whatever on the desk. Put it on the floor, and away to one side. You'll occasionally kick it over, but a sticky floor is a lot less headache than a sticky mixer. Get into the habit of thinking about this EVERY single time you go to put your drink down.

good news!!!! the mixer works. didn't even get a chance to test ti until today - works like a charm.
and thats pretty good advice dach. i actually got hold of a nightstand to set next to my desk, so no more spilling on gears.
