--> You know, I always thought daylight savings time was kind of silly. I used to hate having to get up an hour earlier. Well now I am an early bird and it just means I have one less hour to enjoy the morning before I'm off to my daily obligations - today it's working retail. Then again, that also means I get off an hour earlier.

But now I'm kind of excited to see the sun set, look at my clock, and notice that it is an hour later. What a wonderful feeling, to think "Gee, it's getting brighter! At night, that is!"

And I was thinking, if we can shift the time up by an hour, why stop there? I think we should shift the temperature up by 10 degrees too, so that it feels warmer. I mean, I don't know about you, but if it was freezing and I looked at the thermometer and saw 42º F, I would feel A-OK. Heck, I'd put on a windbreaker instead of a toasty coat.

We should also shift the odometers back in our cars so that they feel newer. I mean, wouldn't it be great if your '94 Tercel only had 20,000 miles on it? I guess used car dealers would get suspicious if your vehicle had negative miles, so maybe we should divide the figure by 10 instead of just subtracting 180,000.

We could also transpose the caloric content of foods so that it feels like we're eating a little heartier. Or do the opposite so we can eat more and feel like we're eating less.

We could also transpose the alphabet by a letter, but J'n opu tvsf xibu qvsqptf uibu xpvme tfswf. Maybe it would just go along with the theme of general disorientation?

LOL at this blog!

i think we should just nuke the tilt out of earth's axis and do away with seasons forever.

unfortunetly seasons and tilt are necessary to keep our planet from becoming an iceball

well, yeah...but thats besides the point ;)

daylight savings is bs. farmers can just get up earlier or whatever.

or ppl could move to the equator. less change there.

being an iceball would just mean a great industry in heating would emerge!

I propose a scaled time system to deal with these troublesome seasons. That way, sunrise will always be at exactly the same time wherever you are. We'll just adjust the length of the second to make it so.

Who's with me?

For one thing, sundials would become the most accurate clocks, under the new system.

I felt the burn this morning ... ugh .......

jdg already transposes his alphabet by 1 letter when he types.

I'm working on shifting our gender by +1 every spring, then setting it back every fall.

In Japan they had varying hour lengths at some point in history, didn't they?
Yes they did link

haha
