Hey folks! I'm only doing two more Ramp nights. This one is pretty special. Gasp will be playing his last show in PDX for a while as part of IDM. Ignatius, Gasp and I will do a fully improv jam on some of our favorite gear! Hoooooo yeah! Plus, SnakeLeader (Jef) will be doing some solo electronic on his new mac! And... hteah is back from wisco to bring it... with "it" being EVIL TECHNO! Here's more infos:
Ramp presents an evening of local goodies in the Portland electronic underground.
First off, we have a special jam featuring Portland's top IDM/Electro producers. These cats formed a band called: I.D.M. (Irreconcilable Drum Machines). The group comprises of Ignatius (who has just released an amazing EP on the new Portland label, Buried in Time), Gasp (another Buried in Time artist who is one of the founders of the Laptop Lounge), and Seņor Frio (the Ramp curator who just released a cut on the Narita Terminal 2 compilation 12"). I.D.M. has a special treat for the Portland's electronic ears... a completely improvised, all hardware, electronic set!
After which, Ramp presents SNAKE LEADER This is NOT Cobra Commander, this is DizzyStarhouse of Hott Pink fame! He's bringing his solo snake charming laptop funk to the Holocene. He'll get you in his boa constrictor techno-funk-death-grip and squeeze you till your legs fall off from dancing so hard!
Hailing out of Wisconsin, [Sik] of Buried in Time will be performing some of the darkest techno this side of the Great Lakes! Utilizing old school technology (909, 303, 606) and blending it with new technology (Ableton Live, Nord G2) this hibrid Wisco-PDXer is going to... how should I put this... BRING IT!

this should be fun. looking forward to it. haven't heard dizzystarhouse in a long time. and mr bring it is always rockin'.
we just have to pick a bpm for the drummachine jam.. how about 130ish bpm?

Me 2! When I was looking for images for the flyer I found newer versions of Rampage!

Ramp will live... just not in monthly form. I want to focus on making tracks. As far as Ramp goes, I'll probably do one-off shows at Holocene. And of course, I'm planning an outdoor party called "Cougar Camp". And I'll be a resident at Laptop Lounge Version 2 w/ Let's Go Outside & Derek Fisher at Pi-Rem every last Thursday starting in May.
