I love this guy's mixture of traditional instrumentation and drum machines.

Listen to how well recorded the string section is in that last clip! Also, engineer in white shirt appears to be Jimmy Kimmel.
Same session:

Amazing in terms of composition, but no weird timing.

I'm sorry I know this one is not gypsy but i stumbled on it and you had to see it.

Blistering fast Romanian gypsy dance music:

The Charles Ives of Transylvanian folk music, I had to list to this a couple times before I realized the genius.

Video

gypsy chicks are hawt. they'll steal your heart.

also, if you're from this region of the world(I know we used to have a few prominent turkish members) please fill me in with all the information, artists, experience, audio, video, etc that you have, I want to see it.
I figured out the the secret to understanding the 9/8 thing a little better, and its the dance. The steps go like 2, 2, 2, 3. Watch them dance and you'll understand the music a little better. The real confusion comes when they start switching up which beat the musicians accent, and things start to get really technical.

lots to go through here

thanks for the compilation!

nagrom. wtf.

i feel like they're putting the mic too close to sound/object. its gonna be one HUGE pop and not much aftertinkle
