just stumbled across a great app called Scala
link

it's a geeky editor that allows you to make your own microtonal scales, and save them as files (.scl). not super useful for a slob like me, however, whilst searching on tobybear's website, i came across his microtuner vst
link
this sits in front of your vsti and allows you to make any vsti (capable of receiving pitch bend data on all midi channels) microtonic.

best of all, the microtuner reads scala's .scl format, and since there are 3443 current scl files (!) here
link
including several versions of my personal favourite, al-farabi, i have no excuse for a lack of eastern promise in any of my tunes ever again

Neat-o.

I wish I had something more positive/constructive to say, I'm running low on positivist constructivism today.

no problem roshi! try it out - i guarantee it'll fill you with positivist constructivism. or at the very least logical positivism

i have never been able to get any of that shit to work. because i are stuopid

absynth imports scala tuning files.

fuck
i wish that were just standard for everything

with the microtuner vst it's easy astroid. just put it in front of your VST in ableton, or on the midi track that's feeding your supafly nord modular ;)

ableton doesn't support midi vsts, unless i'm mistaken.

i show you how.

give me your g2 and i show you.

yeah, you're right astroid - it doesn't like midi plugs. treats them all as audio FX so there's no way to wire the midi out and then back in again. boo. mind you, i'm only on live 4, so maybe they fixed this later?
