--> I went to Portland this past weekend. I was really blown away at how cool the PDX area is. There seems to a good infrastructure setup for musicians, as far as venues to perform at and a supportive local scene. From the outside Portland appears to be a sleepy little town, but once your inside you'll discovery there are a bunch of little communities bursting with activity located all throughout the city. Cool neighborhoods with chill caffes, good food, and nice people.
There are a lot of hippes, a lot of tweakers, and an army of hipsters scatered throughout the city. Geared bikes still out number fixies for now, but hipster conditioning is strong, so give it a year.
The city seems bike friendly with bike lanes going almost everywhere.
The rain seems like it is kind of a bummer, but I guess after living there you habituate to it.
I could write all day about Portland, but you should just go there and check it out. I think I am gonna go back there in May for a much longer visit. It's a dope town.
Here are some pictures I took while I was there

HAHA
I love that statue.

Looks like you packed a lot into your stay -- but there's plenty more -- when you come back, we should have a PDX em411'er takeover of a local spot or something. I still haven't met any em411'ers in person yet.

glad you had fun. it rained all day/night saturday. sunday was dope though.

great pics. everyone loves the nippple statue.

get down off of there you fucking vandal

wow... you did more in that weekend than i did my first year here!

LOLOL at your pics! Tweaker Love! portland is rad, we're gonna go visit in the next week or two probably. i wouldn't mind spending more time there to get to know the city.

glad you got a chance to visit Portland. I love it here. Your observations and pictures are dead-on.
nice! Every time I think about moving, I return to the same conclusions about this awesome town.

And yeah, I think you did more in a couple days than I've done in my entire 34 years here!

I moved to PDX about a year and a half ago, and I think I'm going to die here. The perfect city to set my roots and grow, and have fun while doing it. Glad you had a good time here ...

Get off our nipple statue you damn kids!!!!!

[shakes fist]

PS is there a statue left in town that you didn't molest?? ;)

I hope you link

that's a locally famous ex-mayor flashing the nekkid lady statue, btw

somehow perfectly emblematic of portland

He started the whole Hipsters-must-have-beards trend
