So what would you come up with?

We're talking original ideas, not taken from another.

Maybe if we all worked together, we could create our own. :P

Throw in your ideas and discuss!

having real modularity in a well-made wave multitracker would do it for me.

that's why i get the woody when i hear about max/msp and ableton joining together to crack some skulls.

digital modularity would also be nice, not like the virtual analog stuff, but things happening in the digital domain, like d/a a/d conversions, fft... that'd be something i'd plunk down for

ableton + max/msp would be like buzz done right. That would be so wicked!

i want to be able to use my hands. if i there were a way to work a sound or composition like i work a painting or a drawing, i would be eternally happy. fortunately, the new multi touch screens that have been getting so much attentnion lately may offer something of this type in the near future!

astroid: I agree. Freely routable audio streams would be nice. Also, totally sweet.

not just freely routable audio streams, but freely routable event streams as well.

it would also be nice if you could change the time signature and/or bpm in the middle of the track, independantly of the global timing.

Really all I want is a full graphical sequencer (eg: FL without the sound) for my nintendo DS with modular midi controllers that could be added to the screenspace like sliders, pads, buttons, etc.

a sequencer that small with that much control would rock

Routable output - MIDI/audio. Learnable MIDI. Triggerable clips. Stretching algo. Video support. Ability for tracker like clips.Clips also support MIDI/audio/events.
Recent blogs: Japan tokyo, kyoto, hokkaido

audiomulch (w/a heftier sampler/drum machine device and some amount of lfo/envelope/midi event routings - say bidule and i'll kill you) + live + pro tools (for mixing)

so maybe it's just cycling 74 + ableton.. but i don't really want to deal with making max patches.. such low level architecture doesn't appeal to me. something simpler or limited but freely routable with semi independent modules.

currently, i would selectively ring people's necks at digidesign until they unlocked the FUCKING TIME CODE BAR IN PTLE.

pro tools just needs to get over their own hardware and support any core audio device. shouldn't have to buy a stupid Mbox to run pro tools.

Its already been done link

I'd be happy if renoise and abelton live would get married, have some kids.
