--> DECIBEL:
International Festival of Electronic Music Performance, Arts and New Media

Seattle, WA – The third annual Decibel Festival promises to be the biggest
edition yet, reflecting the burgeoning audience and growing interest in this
adventurous multimedia event. Decibel Festival 2006 features over 80
electronic music artists from around the world, presented in 17 individual
performance showcases spread out over four days. As part of a new visual
arts focus, Decibel will host talented visual artists throughout the
weekend, which will culminate in DB-Optical, a multimedia fusion of
installations and live art. Also this year is the DB-Conference – a series
of audio and visual technology workshops, product demonstrations, clinics,
and panel discussions held by leading industry professionals and educators.

killer line up. who's alex smoke?

yah, i thought the same thing, but theres a link to his site.

im pretty stoked about Taylor Deupree

also, im surprised kris didn't post this! i thought it was kris the first time.

hottest album this year - link

I really need to widen my palette of musical artists. I have no idea what's out there...

I'm still listening to mum and luke vibert.

Someone give me a list of good artists to check out.

i think that list msBasic gave in this blog is a great starter

I like Tim X .. nice guy ,.. masters vinyl for me.

Soultek is good too.

from this list i will name ones i like, along with a reductive, inaccurate description of them
green velvet (house/techno)
bola (idm)
taylor deupree (clicksncuts/minimal/housey/ambeinty - it varies)
richard chartier (experimental guitar stuff)
andreas tilliander(similar to deupree somewhat)

about 95% of the rest i am not familar with.

Lusine is awesome (idm)
Funckarma too

Lusine is so sick.
omf

alex smoke is really good. i like his music very much.

i'm excited for:

Alex Smoke
Thomas Fehlmann
Telefon Tel Aviv
Apparat
Taylor Deupree

l'usine's albums are awesome, his live shows are kinda meh, imo.

stoked for bola and telefon.

hopefully i will be in town!

we were supposed to open up for L'usine once, but things ran so late that the organizers decided to put Lusine on first, before everyone went home to bed... and give us the dregs of the audience.
so I can truthfully say that L'usine has opened up for me. MU AH HAH HA HAHA HAHAHA
