--> So here I am, laying in bed with my lady. She's passed out and I'm surfing the net. I'm on musicthing and I come across this lil' interview with a fella named Goodiepal. I read it...He's built this cool lil' mechanical music box type thing with mechanical birds in it. I'm like, cool. So I search a bit more about the guy and it turns out he's like the best thing to come out of Scandinavia in terms of music in like forever. And what's even cooler is that a majority of his music is up to download for...FREE!

He only releases his shit via vinyl and only in limited amounts. So a bunch of his stuff is really sought after. Haha, wow, his music is freakin' fabulous.

Check it all out here link

Enjoy...

p.s. my new favorite artist.

um, a selection called rare tracks or something is all zipped up...it's all good though. I'm off to sleep, but I'll be downloading it all soon enough.

what are your favorite songs?

wooohoooooooooo!
good schtuffff

i think SKWEEE-music is teh best thing coming out of scandinavia. haven't heard anything from this guy though.

I saw V/Vm last year at the Bristol Venn festival. Fat men in pig masks hitting each other to Elton John. I found it interesting but I was with 3 girls who were quite disturbed by it and we had to leave.....bloody lightweights.

This reminds me of the MEGO label.
I wonder if he is friends with Farmers Manual.

goodiepal has been around for quite awhile. I thought he would be widely known here in this neck of the woods.
those aren't mechanical birds. those are REAL birds!

real...naaah....

seriously? they're real?

Ive seen him a preform couple of times, everytime it was something different, he also plays lut...Last mounth he was on national tv (denmark) playing on his strange new instrument, it was funny to see the talkshow hosts reaction to goodipals music.

i've also seen him perform live @ transmediale, berlin, he was funny
i didn't know his artist name tho, thanks for sharing

I dig the feel .. but not so much the arrangements... a bit fragmented and insecure .... doesn't have "legs" .. but it could if he had a bit more confidence..

thanks! .. I'll listen a bit more.. tons of stuff..

I saw Goodiepal performing at Norberg festival in sweden this summer. At least, it was a Danish duo called goodiepal. I had been expecting something with mechanical birds and pig noises, but instead it was a tall bald guy and a girl, playing loud and fast noise on a saxophone and trombone. They were in a tent near us, smoking some very smelly stuff, and then he came out of the tent and went away, and a moment later came out of the tent, and went away again. There were two of them (they looked identical, and nothing like the guy in the above picture).
I am confused now more than ever when it comes to goodiepal.
