--> I'm really enjoying my S550 lately. It just sounds so good, and unlike anything else - the only thing I can really compare it to is the 626 I used to have, with that oddly clean but warm and crunchy sound. Also it's limiting in a nice way and there's a comfortable amount of experimentation available. And it complements the Nord beautifully.

Anyway, it runs off floppies and I don't mind that, but I'm going to need to backup these floppies to my PC. It seems silly to try to keep everything on one disk or use multiple disks when I could just backup the floppy, reformat it, and dig around for the image I want when I feel like working on a track.

I found tis software called Floppy Image by Towodo. I haven't tried it yet, and it's only $15, but I'm looking for a freeware solution because I'll feel dumb if I buy it and later find out that there's something out there for free. But it's only $15 so I'll probably just try it and if it works well, I'll shell out at the end of the trial period.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Cool. The freeware version of Floppy Image worked fine...it's floating around elsewhere and I don't know what the difference is. The trick was that I was using HD floppies formatted as DD, so I just stuck a piece of tape on the HD hole and they worked great.
