--> I'm all stoked to be playing at the downtempo brunch at Chance of Rain here in SE PDX. I just love the idea, chill music for eating a late breakfast on sunday. I haven't checked the place out, but I've heard good things. I'll be on around 1-2, but it starts at 11:00 am.

Jef is playing as Dizzystarhouse next sunday (5/27), so it looks like they're really following through with this idea.

Anyone been there, or have something like this where you're at??

I went in there for a downtempo brunch early on -- Jef was playing at the time - he did an awesome set, it was very chill and a good time. Was still an em411 n00b at the time and didn't go up and say Hi like I should have.

Mmm.. maybe I'll go this Sunday...

OMG that sounds so rad, sadly I'll be up in the Mt Hood woods somewhere.

Hey where is this place? Adress?? (what, google it you say? can't you do it for me?)

1522 SE 32nd Ave (just S of Hawthorne)
Portland, OR 97214
(503) 235-8022

this is such. a. dope. idea.

how nice.. do they have mixin gear there??

i was at an 'afterparty pancake breakfast' in pomona once, a cool crew that did them fairly often on sunday mornings. this was in '99, so there were lots of partykids left in the morning haze, er, smog.

nope, I have to bring my gear. That blows me riding my bike there, but ah well. Yeah, I'd love to play more of these over the summer. Christ, I was so hung over after Aleatoric last night (which went awesome by the way), so hopefully I'll be totally recouped by tomorrow. Fucking pathetic right now ...

Do they let you plug into their sound system, or do you need to provide that, as well?

soundsystem, gear, generator, audience, and bring your own coffee, food + tent in case of rain.

don't forget to take all your trash with you when you leave.

and learn to dig toilet pits.

toilet pits...haha.

i've done the live stuff/dj stuff for the brunch twice before! it's super mellow and they have great food and it's good times. last time i played, there were a ton of deaf people there and they seemed to dig the music...it was rad.

i'll be playing on the 27th...probably mostly djing, since they've got the decks. i'm pumped for it...you should come by!

you just plug your shit into the sys. You play right next to the kitchen, so it gets a little hot. Also, watch the lows and low-mids. I had to have them down a whole lot for the set. But I had a good time. I'll play for tea and brunch quite often!!

yeah, I saw they had tables when I got there. Don't you love when you haul it all to find out they've got a pair of techs waiting :-(
