Everyone has their own opinion, but i want to hear those opinions so I can decide for myself what the best software to use for creating em. Currently I use FL Studio and it is quite enjoyable.

I love FL studio. I have Pro Tools and although it may end up sounding a bit better
in Pro Tools, I will use Fl all day over Pro Tools! Why? Cause its super fun and sounds pretty good!
Pro Tools=not fun

ProTools= fun for me, but I'm a pretty linear type of guy.

I sometimes wonder whether I would be happier with a four track.
But I like Live pretty much for everything.

I heart pro stools, but probs mostly just cos I know it so well.
Live is a WAY better creative tool, in my opinion.

Ensoniq ASR-X Pro + Tascam Porta 02 = the wave of the future...er, uh, past.
I like FL Stdio mainly because I'm so familiar with it. Reason is nice, the only software I've been using lately as a matter of fact. Live is probably more fun than either. Acid is ok to screw around with as is audiomulch.

I use Cubase pretty exclusively... but I'm sure I'd be happy with any good audio sequencing software. If I can record external audio and do some minor cutting, rearranging and apply some effects, I'm happy.

i know... i remeber when i first starting making computer music with my c64... in 86. i was leet.. noone could touch my floppy drive tones.
then i'd play temple of apshi.
THEN!
also, lets talk about pootools...
thxfully i always used the cheep shit and never got into it... and by the time i could afford my own softwares.. it was cubase time.
i kinda miss cubase... i was super fast with it... from VST until SX4... but just never ran right on the mac after VST.
personally i havn't found any software i LOVE.. its always a struggle for me no mater wot DAW im in..

Once you learn how to use it, FLStudio can do anything Live can do, and it has a much better piano roll. I'm a diehard FLstudio fan, and don't let anybody convince you that you can't get a good mix with any one thing or another- use what you're comfortable with, and what lets you just write songs, not obsess about technique.

When I used FL (for about 5 years), I didn't know what a VST was, so I just used the included synths. Something probably close to 90% of the sounds were the dx10 plug in there. That program to me is really tied to a particular method and sound I had back then, and I don't think I could go back and write the things I am doing now, in Ableton's Live, in FL. Not because it's not capable, but because conceptually, FL just has the "feel" of that earlier stuff to me. The interface of a particular piece of software has a pretty big impact on how I write, and I'm digging Live now. I think most of all, I'm digging it's capacity to record/edit audio easily, and the organizational functions in the track view. There are things I wish were different, but overall, it's great.
