Electronic Music 411 - ae + 1996 + live = yum. - live set, link, ae, memories

it's interesting how they were very into having a veiled non-performance back then, ie hiding behind a big sheet sometimes, or in a completely dark room, so we wouldn't be distracted by them, and just listen.. now it's the opposite, the norm is the back of a laptop.

i got this from one of the many other "AFX/AE live" threads. it's really great. the first 20 minutes in particular just fucking rocks.

cloudburst.. their last show at berbati's all the lights were out except some ambient light and there were no laptops. all machines. i just found a nice spot where everything sounded good and stayed there. it was amazing. .. and it rocked.

My award for techno hit of 1996 would have to be "Rotary" from Damon Wild. That song performed live can melt skulls. I'll never figure out what was made to make that demented organ sound.. people says it's a sample of Strings of Life... but I ain't buying that.
