um, i think i would telecommute for a while.

theres a building like that in seattle. ( ti think its still there)

though the seattle building is like 4x taller.

They're probably doing this to avoid dusting up the entire street if they'd used explosives. Short building structures can be made with a single central columns. If it were longer width/breadth wise, there would be other supporting columns.
Recent blogs: Japan tokyo, kyoto, hokkaido

Neat, they should make buildings like this. Means there's more ground space available. I think that's what they were thinking when they made this crazy building in toronto. link

cool. i guess the relatively lightweight floors are build around a concrete core. industrial corn on the cob.

here it is: link

maybe only twice as tall.

Wow, that's one delightfully hideous design... for a centre of design. Kind of like the way hairdressers have the dodgiest hairdos.
I try and imagine the whole building sagging, bending and pulling on itself, and start to realise what it might be like inside an architects head.

nice pic too, that's a crazy place to see

It looks like the bottom of the cube is clear...does that mean people on that floor can see thru their floor?

Holy upskirt opportunities, batman!

LOL @ kilt watchers

Why were there so many ugly buildings built in the 60's?

Drugs?

So much of our ugly american university architecture comes from this period...exposed brick walls, etc.
