This Sunday June 17th is the Monthly MIT Flea Market

"The MIT Radio Society, in conjunction with the MIT UHF Repeater Association, the MIT Electronics Research Society, and the Harvard Wireless Club, sponsors a Swapfest on the third Sunday of each month, April through October. This is a place to buy, sell, and swap amateur radio, electronic, and computer equipment. Hams and non-hams alike are welcome."

What does this mean?

Only the best Flea market in New England for circuit benders, chip tuners, retro computers, tube-o-philes, and diy synth folks.

The MIT Flea is the only flea market where i have seen two thermins, an 8-trk reel-to reel, a korg poly six, a midi nintendo, 16 MM movie camera, the keybed to a K2500, and an original WWII emigma machine for sale all at the same time.

There are all sort of techie types walking around and selling at this place.

Plus it is the BEST place to get simple computer parts and electronic switches and components for projects.

As with last month I do have a personal agenda for mentioning this though,

I will be selling of my extra gear at one of the booths. I will have a large selection of Talking toys to bend, Furbys, Bendable casio keyboards, fx boxes, a lot of bendable toys, midi sax, some DJ gear, and whatever else i dig out of my mess of a studio closet to sell off. i will also have details on an optigan but won't be able to haul it up tomorrow.

Anyone who has been to one of these MIT Fleas give me a shout out. And please if you are going this weekend come by and see me.

Here is the link to the one dollar off admission coupon, just print out the pdf. $4 to get in but there are people who pay the $20 dealer price just to get a look at everyone hours before as they open up.

Hey... there's a small chance I could be there.
I'll try, but it winds up being fairly expensive for me.

I had planned to go this month, but it's 3 AM and I'm up/drunk so...who knows?

You know it's on sunday and today is saturday right otterfan?

Or are you reserving the whole weekend for a drinking bout?
anyway hope you can make it.

damn, that looks like loads of fun.

Eh, no dice.

I was approximately that drunk. I'll see what I can do tomorrow--I've got to be back in Brookline by noon for the Flag Day parade.

BTW, here's a photo from a 2005 Flea where someone was selling an Enigma machine--for $21,000.

Gawd i want an Enigma machine, even a repro. An Apple One computer would be cool too.

Anyway, look for us up high up the ramp since we are getting there a bit late at 8am
