--> So, only 3 weeks till i'll be flying out to the next STFU adventure. Back to Germany, this time Heidelberg, and I can't wait, especially since I missed the last couple. I'm looking forward to seeing some of you peepz again and getting to know some new STFU-ers.

I have been to a few STFUs; Glasgow, Leeds, Germany, Helsinki. The first one I took part in was Glasgow in Nov '05. I'd never played live before, I didn't really have any proper tunes written and all I had was a shitty electribe and guitar FX pedal, but to my surprise not only did people not throw things at me I actually got applause at the end.

For me personally it kind of blows my mind that, not only have I played live, (something that I doubt I would've done without playing that first STFU) I have also managed to travel to cool places, samples lots of quality foreign beer, meet lots of top people and learnt lots of things such as;

- how to move a parked car using the bouncy-bouncy method
- that drugs are good/bad/funny
- that bacon doesn't necessarily have to be cooked to be enjoyed

...and lots more. It's been cool to see and hear everyone's music getting better as each STFU passes. I'm just trying to keep up.

So if were like me, twiddlin' yer thumbs thinking 'I'm not good enough to play live', get yer arse down to your local stfu, and if there's not one near you then damn well organise one!

What's the worst that could happen? :-)

What's the worst that could happen?

Well, apparently one could end up eating raw bacon.

that hand picture is great

yes its a case of feel the fear and just do it & then get a real buzz for it....

for me the ultimate stfu'er is bla - i love his attitude - so understated - just has a go and then pulls off some great sonic moments

hope Heidleberg is good - do you have a link to poster for it ?

of course you don't have to cook bacon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

hmm, don't think there is a poster yet. Martin?

the lineup is finalised tho;

yeah ben get off your arse!!

i want to do another manchester one but being a pessimist im scared it will fuck right up.
i'm so looking forward to this.

raw bacon is not kosher.

Ill look into doing one in london but would need several em'ers in the area to help.

Are you going to organic beats this weekend? Ill be up in Glasgae about midday on friday and then back to london on monday about 5pm. So will be good to hook up if youre about.

promotion for stfu heidelberg is done entirely by the venue as i'm not actually living there - they have flyers, a printed program and a poster for their weekly events that has us on it though.

forgot to mention, ace blog and damn I'm looking forward to STFU Heidelberg

Also; It'll be streamed in its entirety on Systrum Sistum Netradio. 2 x 12 hours, from 6 pm to 6 am CET on July 20 and 21.

I doubt I'll make it I'm afraid, but let me know if you're out and about in Glasgow before or after OB. And if I don't see you have a good one.
