right. they're like walmart. we know. but it's crazy they were bought out for over $2 fucking billion. i wouldn't have guessed they were that valuable.
is it important in any way? i don't know. selling lot's of gear of various quality and not paying your lower level people a fair wage seems to have gotten them to that point. big surprise. why should we care?

GC is great if you only want to work for gear, or know someone there who is only working for gear.. salespeople can pretty much sell anything for just a little over cost.. you could almost walk in near the end of a sales period, and say 'i want this this and this, for this much money", and they might go for it, to meet quotas.
i've gotten a few items from GC, it really is a lousy store though, ugh. i feel like i'm in a bad glam rock commercial.

I'll second the pricing demands thing at GC. Never buy anything without asking for them to throw something in or to give it to you for cheaper. 9 times out of 10 you'll get something (free cables, etc) or a reduction in price ("I can get this online for X" or "I don't want to spend Y").
