so on thursday i got in from work, got some tea and sat down at the computer to do a bit of em411ing whilst i was eating.
then this crazy shit happened....
i had about 2 mouthfuls of tuna steak (mmmmm) then i got what i thought was a cramp under my chin .... it became quite clear within about 3 seconds that it wasnt a cramp at all!
the 'cramp' feeling got very intense, spread all over the right hand side of my face and went really really numb. if you have ever slept on you arm by accident and woken up to find it feels totally dead but kinda swollen .... thats the only way i can describe the feeling.....but worse.
i knew there was something really wrong so i got up and tried to run into the kitchen and shout out to my dad. i couldnt get any words out at all or even force a noise out and by this time my eyes were rolling back into my head and i couldnt see where i was going. then i lost consciousness for around 3-5 minutes. all that happened very very fast... well under 10 seconds since first feeling the 'cramp'.
apparently i fell to the floor and was shaking around violently. all the colour drained from me, my lips went blue and my eyes 'rolled back' into my head. then i stopped moving for a while. i came around as the paramedics were taking me to the ambulance.
in hospital they told me id had a seizure and did lots of test and brain scans ... all of which were negative so they let me go home friday afternoon. ive got to go back next week so they can run more tests and scan my brainwaves. they dont know what caused it but some doctors said it could be epilepsy.  im 24 and nothing like this has ever happened to me before.
ive got a huge lump on my head where i hit the ground and all my muscles - legs, arms, back, stomach, shoulders, neck - are aching like you wouldnt believe ... i can hardly get up stairs!!
feel a bit groggy and drained too..... im ok though... just feel like ive had a very hard game of rugby 
because i had a seizure i can not drive for a year!!!!
A FRIGGING YEAR!!!!!
i work 35 miles away. i bloody love my car too. the best bit about working all that way away was the nice drive over the pennines. good photo opportunites up there (see pics)
anyone else ever had a seizure or anything like that?
anyone get them regularly?
it kinda freaked me out

when i was younger i had a friend, that had a seizure once, and it never happened again. so it's not said you won't ever have to witness this again.
be carefull when going to clubs and such, because all the strobos and flickering lights can cause suchs things aswell, so does stress sometimes or drugs. (i'd skip the drugs for a bit)
all the best mate. all fingers crossed this isn't epilepsy and just a one time seizure. have a weekend off. listen to some music, read something, relax.

i had a seizure a few years ago.
i was ultra wierd like you described. i think i was like 23.. first unexplained seizure. (i had one when i was 3 that was fever induced)
i think it might be that im slightly autistic. i dont really notice any classic autism symtoms in myself but i can defenetly see it in my dad.
was there anything strange going on that may have helped trigger your seizure? i had been awake for 2 days.. i think that was tuff on my brain chemistry. i didnt go to the hospital, but luckily my good friends were around to keep me from eating my tung or hiting my head.
its pretty scarry.. and now if i ever feel wierd or dont sleep enough i try to avoid driving.

the driving thing is precautionary - imagine that you had that seizure about 30 mins before when you were in your car, coming home from work.
it could be a one off or you could really deteriorate and end up having multiple sezuires a day and become incontinent, with the slightest flicker of light setting you off so you piss yourself, whilst frothing at the mouth. ;)
joking aside, im sure youll be fine but just take it easy and dont get too stressed about it. i had 2 pneumathoraxes [is that the plural?] because of stress [and how my lifestyle changed because of that stress] and didnt do myself any favours afterwards with not letting the stress go. I hit a wall of depression after the second one for about 9 months.
put your feet up, kick back and be thankful you didnt choke on the tuna.
im sure youll find that if you research it a bit, it is quite a common occurence that people have one off fits. I had a friend that had them after every party until he realised that he had to chill out and replenish his glucose levels.

i would wait until they actually confirm its epilepsy though.
im no expert but i think seizures can be caused by all kinds of things.
there are all kinds of meds for things like seizures.
do what yghiggie said and chill for a while.

in the meantime, you could look at how youve been living recently to find out why it happened: not enough sleep [like kelly said], stress, not eating well enough, overdoing the drugs, dodgy flickering pc monitor, bad lighting...etc

sorry to hear that man. I know someone who's had multiple seizures and he describes a similar feeling. i bet you are exhausted. i hope you can relax and let those close to you comfort you. doctors are amazing. they found the source of my friend's first siezure (brain tumor) and removed it just fine.
take care of yourself, maybe this could be the inspiration of an excellent track.

if i drive it would be ILLEGAL cos i wont be insured.
i could 'do what i want' just like i could walk out of a shop without paying if i wanted to....
it might work different in the US but if you have a seizure in the UK you can not drive for a year. period. they dont advise you. they TELL you.
of course j_chot ... i forgot you were a world leader in epilepsy diagnosis ;)
its a misunderstood condition link i bet you were thinking 'flashing lights' ?
i personally dont think it will be epilepsy .... but the doc knows more than me .... thats why he is a brain doctor and im not.
i havnt been doing any drugs recently and have layed off the weed too. i had a toke here and there... about 3 pulls at weekend as a joint was being passed around .... not even that really. ive been getting enough sleep ... pc monitor is pretty new, decent lighting.... there was nothing out of the ordinary. i was less stressed with work cos id got a pay rise a few weeks before .... less work to do. ive been eating well. not drinking that much beer.

yeah, ive read about it a bit and hopefully it will be a 1 off seizure. fingers crossed.
on the possitive side of things.... i just spoke to the guy i work for and he said i should be able to work from home .... which in turn would make it a lot easier to re-locate to berlin!! i can sell my car and get rid of the huge loan/insurance payments....that should leave me enough to buy a new laptop!! ...i might even get a macbook ;)
and i got 4 weeks off!! yay. so i can kick back for a while and chill.
im not going worry about the tests and stuff ... ill deal with that when/if it comes.
