Just thought I'd let everyone know that I'm okay and it's looking like there aren't going to be too many casulties. The bridge that collapsed runs right through the campus of my college and was a very busy one. It's a sad day up here in the northern lands.

There was a busload of kids on the bridge at the time, but they all made it out alright. It's looking like 7 is the initial death count and there aren't too many other folks hurt bad enough to not pull through, most weren't injured too badly.
This is going to cause some seriously painful congestion in the city too because 35W is a main artery when it comes to daily traffic. One guy from the Minnesot Department of Transportation said on the news yesterday "There's just too much traffic, period." ...amen to that.

nuts, man. nuts. the video was insane.
there needs to be less cars on the road. period. i'm sure there are older structures like this wearing out all over the place. populations and traffic have grown so much all over the world in a relatively short period of time - i just don't think the older structures were designed to handle that kind of flow. scary.
