--> i got this little machine link as a gift from germany and plugged it right into my setup. you switch it on, and it starts playing music. little meditative loops in fact, that might me stored somewhere on a chip inside. a button on the side is to change to the next loop. so, instead of an expensive mp3 player, just take this 10 USD gadget to listen to the same drowsy sounds sometimes called "lounge music"...reduced to the essentials...

I'm sorry but i cant take you seriously after you saying, " that might be stored somewhere on a chip inside" when you have the innards diagram as the blogPic there and can see, in full plain sight, that its obviously not. ;)

Sorry, I do have to snigger like a little girl at the bit "just take this 10 USD gadget to listen to the same drowsy sounds sometimes called "lounge music"".

"Lounge music"???!!!!

i use one of these in my liveset and i bent one too...pretty limited and very lofi. certainly not a replacement for my mp3 player.

yeah, i've got one and i absolutely love it, but i'm not about to throw away my mp3 player anytime soon.

disquiet had some good links to buddha related audio projects (including work by robert henke)

seriously! as you can see there is a miniature buddha inside running the thing. that's where the sound comes from.

ahaha - in that case, i might well throw away my mp3 player as i assume the little buddhas will do requests!?

once you have freed yourself from Samsara then you will not actually want to request anything.

lol. there is that.

i've got one too, love it! there was a good period where i would carry it around like an ipod too - i may start that up again, though i started to get sick of the loops after a few weeks.

mine just stays in the bedroom. i tried taking it with me on a walk once but it seemed odd to have those sounds over the swooshing wind sounds and rustling leaves :-/
