--> Hi people,

I have this FCB1010 controller by Behringer, and Live didn't quite work the way I wanted. I wrote a remote control mapping script for it to allow me to do things like "record into first empty slot", and a few other things (like automapping the pedals to the first rack in a track).

It's very early beta, seems to work fine for me, but I haven't tested it much (works under Windows and MacOSX though). I'd be very grateful for bug reports and feature requests!!

Download it here:

cool. i'll have to check it out soon (not just yet though... i have a show next week and don't want to reprogram. just in case)

i need one of them. so your prog is written in what language?

did you use live API to put it together? HOw did you do it??

fascinating stuff. any chance of more details on how you put this together?

yeah, it's written in python, doesn't use liveapi. It's a normal remote contorl surface script for ableton, and in fact, liveapi is one as well, except that instead of interfacing with a midi device, they open an OSC connection. So if you download the zip file, you find the python files inside and can take a look at how it works. I also wrote a small C program to generate the sysex for the FCB cause it was too much a hassle to program by hand.

This looks amazing. I'd really like to hear who has it working, and if they have come accross any issues.
I bought a fcb1010 used today. It's 5 yrs old, so I hope that the old firmware/chip won't be a problem.
I assume that I have to send the presets.syx to it somehow, for it to work proper with ableton.

Is it possible to set a banks to act as a tap tempo?
