yeah, damn shame the sound quality is so shiiiiiiiit!

yeah it's shiite shit.
Recent blogs: Japan tokyo, kyoto, hokkaido

i never understood what people like about this crappy overpriced synth that can be easily emulated by free software. for me it's only a strange hype.

Hmm didnt DJ scotch egg do a video with like 30 ppl with gameboys? In a similar fashion.

dunno oerfil. when i say dj scotch egg at loom fest, it was flippin fantastic..........plus it was downstairs at a comedy club with bernard manning upstairs...how surreal.

jp: i think you missed the point of the video and the 303.

damn.....no edit. I 'SAW' DJ Scotch Egg - not 'SAY'........and Y and W are nowhere near each other....grrrr

It was pretty cool although a bit short, only like 25min.

sAMsKi: you're right i miss the point. i just don't get it. not even the making-fun-of-it-performance-youtube-video. i also don't like the music. but well, that's my personal problem, i don't want to offend anybody.
When someone invents a software Devilfish mod and figures out how to simulate controlling modular gear with virtual 303 control voltages, I'll switch to the software.

jp: i too don't want to offend anyone. i just think the idea in the video was fun / interesting in it's own right. In terms of the 303, I can agree with you to an extent but that is a bit like me saying that sort of thing about the beatles (which is basically how i feel about them) but that would be ignoring thier huge influence and importance in the progression of music. a hard thing to quantify but something i think can't be denied in the case of the 303.

actually....i don't mind offending some people...but I didn't mean to offend you

when processors are 4-5 times as fast as they are now it MIGHT sound as good... but until then it just won't do what this little set up does:

i love computers but being able to rock out w/something like this hands on is just so much fun.. even if they do emulate it pretty well. btw... that 303 does a few things a 777 does.. filter is very different on the 777 of course but they are in the same ball park w/the x-mod.

acceeeiiiiiiiddddd!!!

wow, that sounds awsome!

ooh, yes..........rather splendid

sAMsKi: in fact i am not easily offended... and i agree with the historic importance of machines like the 303 but i don't understand why people now pay 2000$ just to get a boring synth with an awful sequencer. i absolutely understand why people are into modular analogue synthesis nowadays but not into this cheesy box. but i was never too much into acid...

and regarding sound: am sure this has been discussed a million times and everywhere, but i am sure if you just listen to recordings of both an analogue synth and a good emulation you won't notice the difference. unless the analogue synth is your machine which you use daily so that you know the sound of the specific machine very well.
