--> I have got to find myself a new place to rent DVDs

First they put Greenaway' "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and her Lover" in the Family Comedy section.

Well it is funny in a grim sort of way, but Comedy - next to "Dunstan Checks in" - it's just not working for me.

Then I walk in there and they've got Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut in the "Action" section.

And again - wtf?

Die hard, Demolition Man, Eyes Wide Shut, Terminator 2.

It's like a Sesame Street thing - One of these things just doesn't belong.

Mind you they do have a good selection of Anime, but they lump them all in together with the Animated films. So: Bambi, Toy Story, Ghost in the Shell.

Don't these people actually watch movies?

LOL, no, they don't.

It's like barnes and noble...no one is paid enuf to care

ha!! most amusing. as roshi said, who would give a fuck for the minimum wage? i think you should go and slip a few films in. Pink Flamingoes under nature documentaries / Requiem for a Dream in the music section / Cannibal Holocaust under children..........??

and "Cannibal - The Musical" under family entertainment right alongside "Orgazmo"

that would be rad.

netflix

nothing more. I love it.

I think someone there loves movies and is having a little fun.

LOL @ pink flamingoes in nature documentaries

hey roshi...we get our eggs from a local couple in the next village. my girlfriend always refers to this as 'going to get some eggs from the egg lady'.....all i see is this: link

Oh egg man, don't ever leave me!

netflix seconded

i found "mystery train" by jim jarmusch under foreign films because it has some japanese in it, but is 90 % english,
and "midnight cowboy" in the westerns. the "blue jean video" by david bowie was in foreign films too, and "spartacus" was in musicals!
i used to tell the clerks, but no one cared. i still get a chuckle when i see such incompetance.

speaking of clerks nightowl...they probably care about as much as Randal does in Clerks....

Btw, in China they call "Dunston Checks In" by a different title.

It's "My monkey, the butler" which makes me lol a little in my mouth.
