so i was talking to my bud bud about possibly putting out a release on his little label, and it appears it is a go. it is called "Cassette Coda", and is a collection of my pre-prevert cassette songs/jams, all recorded on to cassette. I really like the tracks on it and am excited for this. best thing is, its going to be a cassette release...
now heres an important question, how many of you would buy a cassette release, lets say, for 5 dollars. and with buying the album you also get an exclusive link to download the album as a high bitrate mp3. its going to be packaged very nicely and look super. we're making a small edition of them, but if any of you guys want them, you should tell me cus i would totaly love for you guys to get a sweet ruin cassette.
the tone of this album is very dark and dirty. more so than other ruin, its recorded onto cassette with lots of distortion and lots and ambience... it's an interesting listen, some of its improv and some it its preplanned and composed... but its all got the same darkness to it.
oh, i also got a free (but admitidley in bad shape) poly 61...its in bad shape because over half the keys dont work... but as i hear thats a pretty common problem and i just need to open it up and clean the contacts... but it really sounds awesome... so the resolution on the parameters sucks but the sounds, i think they will really fit in my music... you can get some dark and dirty stuff with it, and shimmery shammery... its a nice package... plus theres a trigger in for the arp! that means modular syncing!

i found some sweet looking cassettes at a local $2 shop (equivalent of US 99c stores)
three blank cassettes for $2 and they are a pretty pink with hearts all over them
so im working on some dark progressive shit to release on them

Good luck with the Poly 61 - I got one for $20 last year. Check my blogs for more details, but basically my ignorant ass hasn't got it working yet. It does make some cool noises though.

i'd buy one. i rock cassettes all the time. until it recently broke, i had one of the big ass tape recorders you can carry around that run on 8 d batteries and carried it around everywhere recording and playing things for people all the time. i miss it and it's hard to find those in working condition at the thrift stores these days.
anyways, tapes rock and if you come to austin, i'll buy one from you.
