try that in a city when the police have riot gear on and sandbags in their guns (hopefully) - LOL no seriously - try it. as in dont let those fuckers scare u.

mad props

lol @ mechp.

why did the cops keep saying "spring break" near the end?

if that was the US there would have been at least 10X more cops.

most fucking polite cops ever

france doesnt look too fun, either, tho
that warms my heart
non-violent resistance!

those police are absolutely disgusting, watching them search the van i wanted to vomit.

yeah, the cops seem to be pretty civil, i don't get the guy at the end saying "officers on the floor were kicked repeatedly?". But yeah, very few cops, no riot gear, not even tonfas?

link this is what we get here

dunno.. i've found most of the time that bobbies like these guys are pretty cool. they're jus doing their job like.

my beef aint never been with them. surely thats a fairly childish avenue no ? its like hating on your parents for not letting you do what you want when you're a teenager.

it saddens me a bit to see these packs o trustafarians gettin their kicks by pulling shit like this 'climate camp' horseshit. is there genuine belif that they're making *any* kind of difference? is it just an extension of their angsty teenage rebellion they simply cant 'put down'. real dumb if you ask me.

if you really give a fuck about shit like 'peace love n unity' why all the aggression and confrontation ? you're just AMPLIFYING the wrong. surely by simply being cool to people and to your 'earth' you're making far more of a difference than standing about shouting pokey slogans like some spoilt little sprog ?

history is littered with examples of people protesting to get what they want from the state. the very human rights that allow you to walk down to the voting booth and vote, were fought for by women, men and children alike, some of whom lost their lives.

confrontation is always going to happen if people stand in the way of your right to protest. the climate camp is currently under squatters rights.
the police have no legal right to be there. they were being forcibly ejected, non-violently. quite right too. i didn't see anyone throwing punches. but i bet the police will throw a few by the end of the weekend.

those "trustafarians" who you so highly speak of, some of them are friends of mine. not one of them i know has a large trust fund supporting them.
they all work for a living in the community sector, voluntary work, teaching and sound engineering. they have taken time out of their lives to go and do something they believe in. they are people like you and me who don't want the world to be burnt up.

the media would love you to believe that these protestors are dole scrunging ex public schoolers with nothing better to do than stop you
going on holiday. but as someone living beneath a flight path i have to say, i fucking hate planes, even though i use them myself quite a bit.
the thought of more of them flying over my house is not good.

the climate camp has brought it to the attention of the media and public, in a very forceful way, that we as a society are very wrong if we think we can go on and keep using planes to fly everywhere at the expense of the rest of the world.

maybe this is childish, to want something and try and get it using direct action. but i always find children ignore bullshit better than adults anyway.

that second video made my day. incredible to see protestors "winning" for once.

i have to agree, you have some of the nicest police anywhere in the world.

same scene in the US - teargas, screaming and crying, blood, protestors holding up hands in surrender only to be BAM shot in the face with a rubber bullet, reporters with cameras getting billy-clubbed in the skull, etc.

ekstrak - come back and tell me how great the world is when people all just sit by and do shit-all to help after you've been horse charged for trying to stand up for your right to assembly or tear gassed for trying to call the publics attention to the BNP's hate crimes in Tower Hamlets.

My beef is with the police - I've seen firsthand how they incite riots, close roads previously agreed on as protest routes just to bottleneck people in, surround soundsystems with people dancing and start whacking their shields with their batons.

You're not making *any* kind of difference - but that's cool, that's ok, because you don't matter anyway. Just keep looking the other way as things turn to shit and it'll all be just fine and dandy and you can stay holed up in hoxton or wherever the fuck it is you live, keep sucking down those lattes and watching big brother.
