--> hello again,

here's a quick sample of what I've been working on (since returning to em).

I built a sequencer in max/msp again, this one cuts up samples and sounds great on acoustic instruments.

this is a sample of algo sequenced pitch shifted bits of pachelbel's cannon (eno style)

thanks for listening

Anyone who can make tacobell listenable is a hero IMO

I hear you, and agree about the song; my computer did most of the work, though.

give me algo

or give me death?

give me hando

or give me job?

re the algo:

It works like a tape machine with eight read heads. these heads are restricted to a portion of a buffered sample and read forward then backward (to keep the sound going) eight of these fade up and down in a sequence based on a drunk walk.

or....gave me crabs!
give me librium or give me meth

sounds nice.. so you divide the sample into eight parts (no matter what the samplelength is) every time or do you assign a length to each 'tapehead' which can skip to different locations in the sample?

sounds good. could you share the max patch ?
thanks

fichu, the tape heads are locked into their selections (which you select) independent of sample size, but there's eight of them.

wakax, I need to clean it up, loose abstractions and such in multiple places on the hard drive (I'm not organized). I should have one up this weekend.

thank you P !
could be great to have a clean one. ( for os x too please )
i understand reaktor and i do my live setups in it but somehow i like max/mxp stuff more.
is easier on cpu. but for some reason i dont understand max much

the learning curve is a bitch in max. I had to learn completely on my own as nashville isn't a big msp town....go figure. I sympathize.

this sounds really cool. I would love to see the max patch you wrote for it.

nice work!
