I was just made aware that WNYC is doing a 24 hour broadcast of Cage's music in honor of his 95th birthday today. Looks like they've got lots of extra goodies up on the site as well!

there's this project in a german church playing john cages "as slow as possible" as slow as possible. it will play several hundred years (639 years to be exact) by a special organ with a single tone held for years and one can donate money and get a metal plate with one's name in the church.
you can visit as a child, and then again as a mummy and still listen to the same piece.
or, well, introduce some childs of yours to it and their children introduce their childs to it. TAKE THAT, FASTENESS!!1

There's a huge bash with tons of performers in manhattan tonight as well which should be kicking off round 8 or 9 in the pm. Can't remember where, though. Unfortunately I'm unable to attend  if anyone goes, let me know how it is.
