Or very detailed objects photographed in a 'minimalist' style? (not sure what that would look like...)
maybe an example? Or is that what the blog pic is?

thanks, I wasn't familiar with his work.
Your concept makes more sense now. You could search flickr for 'Macrophotography" or just 'abstract', something like that. Or go out and take some pictures of the sides of buildings, or textures on leaves, etc etc. Nature's got lots of minutiae (sp?) It's all about the framing/composition, I think.
