Last night was an emergency band meeting for us chaps in Doublejo(H)ngrey. Having been together for seven years, with our 'new' guitarist danny joining two years ago, there's a lot of history there.
Over the last year or so, we've deliberately put ourselves under pressure to try and get things moving for us. It's not really worked and rehersals have become a chore rather than a pleasure.
So we're going to sod it off, but keep the studio and use it as a base for whatever musical projects may come forth.
Fortunately the meeting, out of coincidence, took place in the Green Room, where Hippocamp were having their monthly live night. It was a real inspiration seeing some live laptops and visuals, hearing about other experimental nights etc. So me and Testrack have vowed to start doing some tunes again.
All in all the future looks quite bright. I've also sold my car and used the procedes to pay off some debts. I've got a new job starting in a fortnight with three days off a week, which means more music making time (and it's a job i'll like i think - supporting someone with asperger's syndrome on a creative writing / english lit degree).
So, all systems go really.
