ok..
yesterday i started a track that had drumatic 3 as the basis for the drums. I was getting cool sounds out of it, but they did not fit in the mix worth a snot.. I tweaked it literally all frigin day, and it still sounded like butt..
so i popped ersdrums in its place and it sat right almost instantly.
well, i am no master mixing egineer dood by any stretch but WTF! i mean.. is there really that big a difference in there sound? or am i just sofa king we todd ed?
i wanna try out microtonic too.. but i am not leet enough to search for it on google.

I always used Drumatic for more 808/909-is stuff, or add distortion and it turns into a haven for industrial noises. ERS is great for CR-78/CR-800 kinda blippy shit. Both great plugs, so yeah IMHO there is indeed a definite difference.

drummatic 3 has better envelopes for the drums, but less bass punch. i haven't used ers much - i like drummatic 2 a lot. very simple controls, and once you start processing those sounds... sweetness.

I always liked the basssssss inherent to ERSdrums.
I always had to layer a more "present" kick over the top, but I used ERSdrums for my kick drum body for years.
Now I used microtonic

I'm curious, how far into production did you get? Did it not sit well with other drums, or was it stepping on the bassline, melody, etc.?
I'm just starting out making music again, haven't even approached doing drums yet, and already I can't seem to get the Moog and Virus to play well together. Would you say ERS is brighter and more "compressed"?

well roger, i actually tried a bunch of stuff.. eq, compression, distortion, reverb. it just always seemed that the transients were too short, or that it was too 'flat' sounding.
mlbot... taht's amazing.. how do you used microtonic in the present?

never heard of ersdrums before, looks good, pc only of course
i can recommend microtonic too, very versatile for a drum synth
you can make all kinds of bleepy stuff too, and it has an internal sequencer
the d16 group stuff is pretty good too, love their nepheton (808) great sound and nice over-the-top photorealistic gui
