So, I played at an outdoor festival on June 24th called Festivus. I love the outdoor festivals in the NorthWest. There is nothing like listening to the bass as it washes out through the trees. That being said, this festival was in a hay field! There were 4 tents. Drum&Bass, Giganticore tent, Sit&Spin tent and a Bassland tent (where hteah and I played as 'Dirty Panda'). The Bassland tent was the best. It had the best sound and did not play Hardcore. Let's Go Outside ran the sound for the tent and he played a sick set on the 23rd. SciFiSol played some lush sounds with some evil Weinal audio at 5:30AM. Daum (Freaky Chakra) got scared out of his tent when he heard that. Jerry Abstract, Perfect Cyn and Derek Fisher dropped some mad techno sets! But, the most fun was walking around to the different tents. There was an interesting band playing at the Sit&Spin that had a freestyle rapper and soul singer and some guy playing a midi-flute in Ableton Live.
But, the weird thing about the event was that it was located in a hayfield, as I mentioned above, and that it was located near some trailer houses in the adjoining fields. Now, bass and most audio for that matter will easily cut through a trailer. So, the event had several noise complaints and the cops showed up 3 or 4 times on Friday night. Alot of the stages had to play on monitors only. So, at 8 AM the next day, the stages started to crank it up... starting with Giganticore. They played hardcore at 8AM! Alot of people were trying to sleep, including yours truly. Hardcore is kind of hard to sleep to. Plus, the temp was rising to about 102 F. So, I wussed out and headed home (30 minutes away). Took a nap, showered and head back with beer and libations for my set with Dirty Panda. We played some dark stuff! It was great! We got to crank the sound up and no cops showed up this time! I love festivals! Here are some pics:

yeah, those photos look a little like a small, remote hillside where miscreant hardcore dj's are taken w/ a firing squad!

I think I missed the shotguns. I know that steak was involved... and beef jerky. Did I mention the Klingon presence?

The women in Oregon are a tad on the large and hairy side.
Just look at the new Bllix video.

It was definitely not a sausage fest. I only hung out with Klingons. There were lots of women there actually. Just ask hteah!
