so im really into portable music making these days, i love nanoloop.,
and i have a ds. i see that em978 and maybe some other ppl have been working on making music things for it.
im going to need a flashcard thing. which one?? i remember zfigz saying that one of the major ones sucks ass... which one was that? the m3 seems good.. but is that the bad one?
the nitro tracker page talks about getting a slot 1 and a slot 2 card.. wtf?
so yeah basically im asking about personal experience of how these cards work, whats best for music apps/ ect/

I'm really out of the loop when it comes to recent developments, but I have a really basic older setup with a NoPass (in slot 1, which allows homebrew to be run) and a clunky Supercard CF (in slot 2, which serves as the main flash cart). It works really well with all the apps I've tried.
I not sure how well they work, but the deal with the new slot 1 cards is they take serve both purposes (allowing to boot homebrew and serving as a flashcart). Seems like the way to go if they work well...
This is a pretty good primer on the topic link
edit: I guess the new slot 1 cards don't allow you to run GBA stuff, so if that is a concern you have to go the dual cart route (or flash the firmware permanently and just use the slot 2 cart)

I have a M3 DS simply, which is a slot-1 cart. It's one of the simplest solutions, in that you can just load ROMs onto a microSD card and just put it in the DS Simply. If you can't find them, I'm told the R4 is identical.
It works great, you don't have to patch anything to get it to work, it autopatches your ROMs on the fly.
Oh man, and I just got SNEmulDS, which is an SNES emulator, so I'm having a blast playing old SNES games like Super Metroid, Earthbound, Chrono Trigger...portable gaming heaven!

ok then what are some DS homebrew music apps?
i think there was some ds midi thing posted awhile back on here.
i know of nanoloop and lsdj, i was wondering if there were some more recent ones.
it seemed like psp was getting some good homebrew music stuff when i had mine but at that time it was going to be waaaaay too much of hassle to do it. (using GTA as a loader, etc)
