hello. i haven't been around for sometime. hopefully some of you will remember me.
basically i've had a shocker of a year. one that i am looking forward to seeing the back of. it basically involved break ups, falling in love, moving in with people for all the wrong reasons - followed by lots of heartbreak, then finding out my mum had cancer, being poorer then i have ever been before, hating university and taking too many recreational drugs.
BUT
things are looking bright! i'm moving out of the house of shattered dreams in 10 days time! i have quit uni, which sounds bad but really is amazing, studying the thing you love starts to make you hate it, and i don't need a piece of paper to tell me whether i can write music or not, thats what you are all for! i have started to get some work, like doing music for a yoga dvd, and i'm gigging more, i have got some short film pieces lined up including a zombie extravaganza! i have been organising charity gigs which have all been so much fun! and most important of all, my mum is on the mend, starting chemo on thursday and should be all over by march! i finally feel like my life has direction again! and i got another job in a pub and i LOVE it.
anyway, i hope everything has been good here, jdg, i hope you are all mended now and everything went ok for you. hope to see me around more as ill be back in a house with internet soon! woo hoo.

I did the same thing regarding college too, it just became really unbearable to the point I had to quit last year.
Glad you're life is turning around for the best and my heart goes out to your mum.

My folks took a couple of the big hits in recent years. Not as big a one as your mother though. Crazy. The worst part was not feeling anything, not realizing what's going on, until it hits you: Brick ton in the gut in strange times and places.
Good luck, have fun, it can be done. Remember it's usually incremental - never despair - but sometimes in jumps - so always look forward.
