--> stanford just made available a free online tool for vectorizing photos and logos and whatnot. to my eyes the results are better than adobe illustrator's native tracer. the results are the tits. free logos ya'll

Awesome!!! How they were able to code a vectorizer that is so sharp and accurate is beyond me. This could potentially save a lot of time.

i hate vectors. especially T, N, and B.

thanks for teh link!

thanks, looks 100* better than the commercial converters!

Excellent stuff. It's aware of the concept of LINES, it seems. Absolutely essential for a vector tracer, but probably a bitch to program.

It's even rotationally invariant - the site won't load for me right now, but that was shown on a sort of 'what's coolest about our tracer' page. Rotationally invariant. Ponder that. Blows my mind.

Lol at the The wiggling illustrator 'jellyfish' on the rotational invariance test.

man i hope they keep it free. nice link! thanks!
This is MEGA; I had a photo that I wanted as a vector, but I hadnt quite learned how to do it yet

Thanks a lot man!

neatawesomesuperyeah

holy crap... it did an awesome job with a photo of my woofie.

i feel a little bad that I just dropped bunch of cabbage on cs3. :-/

nice find!

well im gonna give this a test see how it give in real life situation then i will return here to comment on the result i have

well i just finish testing the tracing engine and i must say im impress by the acuracy of the tracing even in a photo the only problem is that a hi color image eats thrue the ram if you try and edit it

thats pretty impressive. those stanford guys are pretty good.
