--> Hey all, so like Fredo posted last week ( link ) Tunng is RAD. They are coming to play Portland this Saturday! Even cooler than that is... I was asked to open for them.
I am going to play music to three short films.
1. 16mm found footage - home movies from 1936
2. Digital video experiment of some fall leaves on a light box
3. a series of sequenced still photos of circles.

here is some other info. link
hope some of you guys can make it down.

YAY!!!!! What a cool gig, man! Hearty congrats and have a great show!

holy shit, that is amazing!

Is the soundtracking going to be live electronics or playback of prepared material synched to the film?

Sounds like a wonderful way to open for Tunng.

it will be live musics played live to pre-rendered video.

it will be electronic + other instruments. baritone guitar, melodica, tuning forks...

congrats and I'd love to see the video and hear what you played. sadly port-land is a long way from here.

yeah, definitely shoot it, man! I wan to seeeeeeeee!!!!

Crap, I'd love to go, but I'm playing ambient for this circus type thing on Stark st fri and sat nights this weekend. Good luck on your show marc!!!
they videotape all the shows at someday and usually throw them online within a month or two.

Yeah, I just played a show there, and I like the venue. Bartenders were cool too ...

TONIGHT, TONIGHT, TONIGHT!!!

So excited to hear how it went, am I. Please check back later with a full account!

HOW DID IT GO!?!?!

It was awesome. the other band (that wasn't me or tunng) was a total mismatch... but other than that it was a great show. Tunng were so nice. i love those guys.
they actually got people in portland to dance. a rare sight indeed.
my set went well. i recorded it on my Zoom H4.
i will post some of the bits soon.

So glad to hear it went well. I'm really looking forward to hearing (watching?) your set!
